A native of Cincinnati, Ohio, Ryan Donohue began his musical studies at the age of three at the encouragement of his mother, a professional violist. He attended high school at Cincinnati's School for Creative and Performing Arts, received his bachelor’s degree in cello performance from the University of Cincinnati: College-Conservatory of Music, and has participated in renowned music festivals, such as the Pacific Music Festival, Opera in the Ozarks, the Kent/Blossom Music Festival - a partnership with the Cleveland Orchestra – and the Green Mountain Chamber Music Festival. From 2018-2020, Mr. Donohue served as the Montgomery Symphony Orchestra's Artist in Residence; he has also performed with the Blue Ash/Montgomery Symphony Orchestra, the Charleston Symphony, and the Alabama Symphony Orchestra, among many other groups.
