Theo Van Dyck is a trumpet artist and teacher based in New York City. He enjoys a versatile performing career and has performed internationally as a soloist, chamber musician, and jazz artist. Theo has commissioned and recorded several new works for trumpet including Pulitzer Prize winner Du Yun’s GRAMMY-nominated recording, Air Glow. Theo holds degrees in trumpet performance from The Juilliard School and Yale University. Recently, Theo has performed with numerous ensembles, including: International Contemporary Ensemble, San Antonio Symphony, S.E.M. Ensemble, MOD Brass, New York Chamber Players Orchestra, and Binghamton Philharmonic. As an educator, he has many years of private teaching experience, has presented outreach events to hundreds of students across the country, and has led masterclasses at schools including The Juilliard School and The Shanghai Conservatory. Theo is a member of the The Brass Project, “A sextet focused on diverse styles and audiences” - Musical America.
